Sierra Sydney Harris

My name is Sierra Sidney Harris and I work as a Registered Veterinary Technician at an Emergency Veterinary Clinic near Peterborough, ON. I graduated from Laurentian University - Université Laurentienne in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science (Honours) Specialization in Zoology and a Minor in Indigenous Studies. I am now a fully Registered Veterinary Technician as of October 2020. I am deeply grateful for the scholarship from The Hour-A-Day Study Club and its help along my scholastic journey.

Rachel Handsor Schmidt

My name is Rachel Handsor Schmidt . I have an advanced diploma in Graphic Design from St. Clair College and a certificate for Interactive Multimedia from Sheridan College. I currently work at Generator Design as a web developer and designer. I grew up with a passion for art and design but with the world becoming more digital I wanted to grow more into technology. I'm thankful for The Hour-A-Day Study Club for helping me reach those goals. I'd love to see more POC especially our young girls in technology! It was an honour to be able to work on The Hour-A-Day Study Club website and bring them online.

My name is Serena Robinson and I in my first year University of Windsor studying music and psychology. I am honoured to have received the Glendora Watkins Scholarship and the Hilda Watkins Bursary from the Hour-A-Day Study Club. This recognition and financial support is greatly appreciated. The most rewarding part of this experience has been connecting with my family history. I’m so grateful to the ladies of the club for all their hard work fundraising and to all the donors this year who continue to support and uplift descendants of the Underground Railroad.
