Detroit Study Club 125th Anniversary

In September, it was the pleasure of The Members of The Hour-A-Day Study Club to attend the Detroit Study Club’s 125th Anniversary Luncheon held at the Detroit Golf Club. Rocelle, Riley, the Director of Arts and Cuture for The City of Detroit gave an empassioned keynote paying homage to the founder of The Detroit Study Club, Gaye Pelham. Many of the founding members of The Detroit Study Club were residents of Windsor, ONtario, continuing to have strong ties to Ontario. The Detroit Study Club, established in 1898 paved the way, and continues to do so for all Black women’s organizations in the Detroit Borderland region and beyond.
